Unprofessional

i've just started working at a office (part-time) and i was wondering if it would be unprofessional or rude for me to take a one week vacation?

note: working only for the summer, just graduated from high school

You can't just "take" a one-week vacation. You need to get permission to take it. And yes, it would be unprofessional for a summer employee, who did not mention the vacation when interviewing or accepting the job, to ask for it now.

Let the manager know the first day of work. Or ask as soon as possible. Yes it would be kind of bad to ask for it now. But waiting until the day of the vacation to ask is even worst.
