so i'm going to a top-tier lac this fall and very psyched about it. unfortunately i'll also be incurring a rather large amount of debt- tho this year all but the stafford loan is under my parents names i'm certainly expected to contribute if not fully take on the burden of their current and future loans.
that being said, i will be majoring in policy studies and/or govt with a concentration in french. i want to make a concrete positive impact on the world and make enough to pay back student loans. i'm also good at public speaking, verbal stuff, and debate so i was considering a career in public interest law. my state college, rutgers, has a pioneering public interest program and is only 20k per year for residents plus offers merit aid which i hope i'd be lucky enough to get.
all that said, anyone have any thoughts about financing law school, rutgers, public interest, etc.
btw i think i'm going to try and have my student loan repayments made income sensitive.
in addition, rutgers has a loan repayment program to help people that choose do-gooder careers in law to manage their debt- they'll help pay back your student loans until your incomeis enough to sustain them.

try and just earn a scholarship, or work for a few years after you graduate.

Many public interest jobs (e.g. working on the Hill, etc.) have their own loan repayment programs, so you may want to look into that.
