MIS career advice needed

Hey everyone,

Here is some background info:
I am currently a junior at DePaul University. I am a double major in MIS and Finance Honors. This past summer, I was an IT intern at Abbott Laboratories. I am also going back there for 6 weeks over my winter break. They offered me another position for next summer as well.

Here is where I am confused. I have been interviewing at a couple of other places (Pricewaterhouse coopers and Ernst and Young). Both of these are IT Advisory internships. I have received phone calls for an office visit, both of which will take place early November. However, I need to inform Abbott if I will be back next summer by October 31st. I tried to get an extension on the deadline, but they would not give me one. I am confused about what to do. Should I stick with Abbott or try for another one of these companies? I really think I would enjoy working at Abbott after graduation, and I'm sure if i return next summer I will get an offer for the Professional Development Program (a 2 year rotational program after graduation). But, people have told me not to intern at the same place two summers in a row. I have also heard from people that PwC and EY are better places to work at Abbott, and some have told me the opposite.

So basically I am trying to decide whether I should just stick with Abbott, or if I should risk losing that offer in pursuit of one of these other opportunities. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PwC or EY would probably pay more. I have a friend who is in IT Advisory at KPMG, pays pretty decent (not as much as engineering though).

remember you are not choosing between two internships, but between another 'interview' and a job offer. So point being you have to evaluate that you could end up with nothing, turn down abbott, dont get an offer from the others... something to consider.

I personally--as a 25 year professional, dont see much of a negative to interning two years somewhere...

I would encourage you to look at all offers, but the Abbott position sounds solid ...
