high school internship

I've been looking around the web for an internship program for myself and im not having much luck. i will be graduating highschool this spring and i'm looking for a summer internship in the business field, preferably in marking but any business field will be just fine. the only ones i am finding cost about as much as tuition at a public university and i find that rediculous. have any of you ever heard of an internship that accepts high school seniors but doesnt cost an arm and a leg?

lol.............internships.........plus they COST YOU?????

If anything, you should be the one getting payed.........at least that's how its like with research internships........

I think business internships are like that too.....I have a few friends who are business interns.....they are in the COOP Program in my High School.........and they are the ones making money.........they don't pay their boss.....

That's ridiculous........u shouldn't have to pay for an internship.........

ya exactly, why would i want pay people to let me work for them lol. to be honest i wouldnt even mind breaking even in my expenses, but a net loss would be rediculous. my school doesnt have any intern programs at all so thats out of the question. i am more than willing to relocate for the summer, does anyone know of any existing programs?

If you live near a city you could try calling up some banks/businesses in the area and asking if they take high school seniors as interns or employees -- you don't necessarily need to go through a big official internship program. I've actually gotten a few jobs that way, without any help from my school or a program at all!
