Need help finding Internship

I'm a sophomore attending a Big 12 University and have a 2.8 GPA with a B.A. in Economics. I would like to find a summer financial internship but worried that my low GPA will hurt me. I love the stock market, it's my life, it's my passion. This year I more than doubled my portfolio, yet I feel (know) I won't get even an interview because of my low GPA. I'm looking at applying to Edward Jones, A.G. Edwards, TDAmeritrade, Bear Stearns, and Stifel Nicolaus. What can I do to my resume to demonstrate how successful and how much I enjoy the financial world and get me that intership despite my low GPA?

Your best bet is to find a smallish investment firm, applying, and sending a letter personally addressed to whoever is in charge of the internship scheme. Be persistent, passionate, but respectful, professional and non-creepy!

You may not get there immediately, or even at your preferred firm, but building up a great employment record will help a low gpa.. maybe try ECs?
