Applying in Person to Financial Brokerage

Several financial brokerages in my area (Edward Jones, A.G. Edwards) have only a secretary and stock broker working at each branch. Would it be a wise decision to just walk in the office (opposed to applying online) and talk to the branch manager about internships?

So.......which of the two would be acting as Branch Manager or is that now a third person in the office?

From what I understand, the stock broker is the branch manager, perhaps I'm wrong though.

Contact them through corporate. They would need approval (background check and others) before you could go near client files. Plus there are/is licensing issues. Check their corp first and found out how to go about it. Financial information records are/is very similar to medical records in handling and access. You could and even the broker could unwittingly create a situation where they could be fined. Follow their main site path.

I am licensed, but independent.

from experience, if you are not licensed, you will not be able to do anything besides the typical grunt work. i would suggest calling before just stopping by the office and set up an appointment. last thing you want to do is intrude and wait when they are not available. another thing is if the office has the budget to pay for you because i know in my state you can not work for free, their are labor laws.
