no summer internships?

Are internships during the summer key, or is having several but only ones during the school year alright as well? I'm already partway through my first internship (only a freshman) and it appears unlikely that I will be able to complete any internships during the summer due to financial issues. Will that hurt me in the long run or will it not matter as long as I have completed several quality internships during the school year?

You're done for bud.

Everyone knows that if you don't get an internship the summer of freshmen year you automatically get rejected from every employer.

Seriously though, was this question necessary?

Nate, you'll be fine! Just relax for now as a freshman. However, I'd suggest you at least get a part-time job that's related to the field that you are intersted in. That way, you'll get some money to solve your financial issues, and get some work experience.

Good on you for starting early!

Financial situations shouldn't prevent you from doing an internship. I did an internship last summer where I made $1,000/week, and the one I have for this summer I'll be making $1,600/week. If you have financial problems, you should deffinitely work over the summer, and internships can make great money.

$1,600 a week? Christ that's a bunch...

I find out what my Co-op salary is going to be in a week or so, but I doubt it's going to be anywhere near that...

actually, the financial situation will prevent me from doing a summer internship ever. i'm not really worried about it because i can't do anything to fix it anyway but i was just wondering so i can compensate during the school year. i can't afford to pay for housing during the summer and i need the money i make in the summer to put towards the next years tuition because i'm more or less paying for school myself. i just plan on interning during the school year since i have access to a lot of choices, which i already started doing.
