| I would really, really recommend getting a real, paying job the summer after senior year. I think it's a GREAT opportunity to take a job in a restaurant, store or office and work 8 hour days. It will demonstrate that you can hold down a tough, steady job, and make you more "employable" later on.
I spent last summer (after I graduated HS) working in an office and in assembly, busting my butt for my $10/hour haha! It wasn't the most fun, but it was amazing experience (plus I earned spending money for college) and this summer I have an awesome internship that is not only cool but pays!
There's no shame in a typical high school job -- working as a waiter/waitress, cashier, salesperson or coffee b**ch is great experience! |
