CIA internships

I've been wanting to intern withe the CIA for awhile now but don't know where to start.

Any info given would be helpful!

- What kind of internships are available?
- How do you apply and what are the requirements?
- etc.

Thanks!

My first guess would be that the CIA doesn't offer internships because, well... it's the CIA and it's pretty top-secret stuff. But hey, I don't know too much about it, so I very well could be wrong.

My advice is to log onto their website and do some digging. Or if you're in college, ask your career center for advice.

they offer undergrad and graduate internships actually. they are competitive and you have to go through a background check just as if you were a prospective employee, so make sure to apply like 5-6 months ahead of time because they will contact people about you and don't lie to them because they will find out. also, they require that you spend two tours with them, so either two semesters or two summers, though i'm pretty sure they prefer and encourage summer internships at least for undergrads because they really want you to commit. check out their website and it should have more detailed info, but i actually recently saw a presentation by the mid-atlantic regional recruiter for the CIA and that's most of what i remember.

You can start by doing some research yourself. Then:

Go to cia.gov, click careers, click student opportunities

Or if you want to be lazy with this too, here is the website:

Yeah, the CIA and NSA were at my career fair a few weeks ago.

I know someone who applied for an internship at the NSA, and they set interviews for 5 or 6 of his close friends for background checks about him.

Pretty crazy stuff.

For summer 2009, CIA internship application deadlines will be about October to November 2008 along with NSA and DIA deadlines. It should take a while to get your TS/SCI clearance. Intelligence internships are highly selective and very rare, or at least it seems that way. From the CIA website, applicants are advised not to tell anyone that they have even applied.
