Internship/Job before in summer before college

I know that this will be my last summer to have fun and go crazy but I do not want to waste it by just staying at home and doing nothing (I do not have money to travel because I am saving for college). So I want to do something productive during this summer.

I am currently trying to find internships and/or employment opportunities that is relevant to my prospective major (economics or finance). Anyone have any suggestion on how to find relevant opportunities? The only job I can think of is working part-time at a bank. Is it difficult to find an intership at this time?

Let me think... Subprime fiasco, thousands of Bear employees looking for work, along with tons of college kids. Yep, sure, keep looking, or just relax and have a good time this summer and thank your lucky stars you still have time for the market to somewhat recover

unless u have connections, ur best bet is gonna be a regular summer job. dunt underestimate these jobs, you will get more career experience than you think. i work in a mid-sized retail store and ive learned tons about operations and quite a bit about marketing.

@ JohnN

Get a local summer job for teens. You can also relax too before you start college. Engage in your favorite hobbies. Travel the country. Do some community service. An internship is not important the summer before freshman year.

i have the same problem JohnN. I'm a Global Studies major and I've been looking for an internship lately but most of them are related to art. such as...Getty..theaters...shakespeare festival...orchestras..museums etc....
i don't know if i should try applying for one of them or just get a regular job during summer to save up for college...or just take a break before transferring?
hm...
