Lockheed or Raytheon?

Hello All,

I got offers from Lockheed in Sunnyvale and Raytheon in El Segundo as electrical engineering summer interns, but I cannot decide which one to choose. Did anyone intern for for either of these companies before? If you did, can you describe what you did and how you like it?

They both offer approximately the same wage. Lockheed gives 22.75 and Raytheon gives 23.83. However, Lockheed gives 1100 a month for relocation whereas Raytheon does not.

Any suggestion would be nice. Thank you.

Often times internships lead to full time job offers. Which company would you prefer to work for if it ended up being a full time job?

Here are some questions to ask yourself.

Are you interested in working in another country?
Are you interested in one area of any country?
Does one company have a great deal more varied programs going on than the other?
Do you have a desire to work on military contracts or are you against some of these programs?
Does one offer more flexibility than the other?
Does one have a better long term outlook than the other?
What excites you?

Get on their websites and read about their current programs. Does anything really excite you?

Good luck on deciding. You are lucky to have two great choices!
