Borrowing a million dollars

Is it possible for an average joe (like myself) to borrow a million dollars for a business?

You'd need an idea that was (or sounded) exceptionally good to borrow a million dollars. In order for you to secure that kind of credit your business idea would have to have some substantial success (with less credit being made available to you).

You might not be able to borrow the money from a bank, but you could possible attract money from a businessman who would be a sleeping partner, if your idea was original. I know 2 people who had brilliant ideas but no money, and they partnered with a wealthy investor, and are now raking it in. Ofcourse these people were not kids.
