| Question on emplyment with credits
Okay so I am going to be attending a local Penn State campus in Information Science and technology and then 2 years later obviously i finish as University Park. However penn state is quite expensive for me considering i didn't get much aid and my dad is going to help me with 4 of the 13 thousand that i normally would have to pay a year.
In order to cut lots of costs I have decided that I will do anyway to obtain cheap transferable credits to Penn State. I'm going to attempt to obtain around 21 credits through CLEP testing (my spanish is worth 12 if i pass) and then more at a local transferable community college.
I plan on taking 6 credits at a local community college and hopefully 18 through my 3 clep tests. In the fall i will take 12 credits at penn state at a whopping 420 a credit with hardly any aid but i have money saved up enough to cover that first semester easy enough. After that I plan on taking a leave of absence from penn state and taking 15 credits at that same local community college in the spring along with 6 more in the summer of 09 with 3 credits from a CLEP test. This should give me a total of 60 credits, however only 12 are from Penn State but all of them should transfer.
From there I should have cut enough costs to be able to handle the final 60 credits at Penn State itself without ending in much debt.
My question really now is....will it ever hurt my chances for good employment becuase over 1 1/2 years worth of credits were taken from a community college and CLEP testing? I mean in terms of will i be looked at the same as any other Penn State Graduate to an employer? I know it sounds dumb but I'm really trying to cut costs here.
Also on a side note how does my plan sound? I am not going to a community college for my first 2 years becuase honestly i am a senior with very bad high school record becuase of my first 2 1/2 years. I don't want to loose the chance of university park eventually now that I am already accepted. Because of my poor past mistakes i have to resort in cutting costs other ways. |
