Salaries with college degree?

I've been out of school for 11 years now and am considering going back to get a degree (whole other thread). Just from the looking around that I've been doing recently I'm finding jobs out there that require a bachelors degree, and these jobs pay right around what I make now. I've been at my current job for 8 years and I'm topped out, except for our annual raise.

What I'm wondering is, do these jobs that require degrees and start out about what I'm making now take large increases in pay as you gain seniority? Maybe I'm looking too much for jobs that start out quite a bit more than what I'm making now (right around $36,000 for those curious). Just something that I've been pondering.

No offense but, there are plenty of jobs that pay more starting than what you are making now. So hurry up and finish your degree. Take 30 credits a semester or something.

$36,000 is pretty low for a salary that has topped out...

and you are asking the wrong crowd.... the lowest paying job in this board seems to be engineering. lol.
