Lucrative careers in the high tech industry

I'm a HS junior trying to figure out where I want to focus my studies, and hopefully get an idea of the major to pursue in college.

Anyways I've always been very interested in computers, gaming consoles, etc . I adore listening to insider podcats from the xbox team, especially from some of the higher-ups like the marketing manager for example. While I enjoy software coding/developing, I'm more interested in the business aspect of the tech industry, more along the lines of marketing, finances, etc.

would you guys be able to recommend a specific major? something like "information systems management"

Thanks

Depending on the college you go to, you may or may not be able to major in something like "information systems management" - especially if it's a top-tier school.

I recommend you major in something business-related like Finance, Marketing, or Operations. If possible, get a minor or second major in computer science.

Consider looking into tech consulting with firms like Deloitte, in addition to the areas you mentioned.

^ this sounds exactly what I am looking for but both are VERY VERY selective. The UPENN program accepts 50 kids per year.

It goes by various names at each school, often "Management Information Systems" or simply "Information Systems"
