Wachovia Securities internship

I am currently a freshman finance major at UMD and recently interviewed at Aflac and Wachovia Securities for a semester internship. I received both positions but took the Wachovia Securities job 1. because it was an hourly wage vs. commission and 2. it is the business I am looking to do when I am out of college. Now, the question is what should I put as the description of my job position as a cold caller. Just saying I am cold calling prospective clients does not sound very good to prospective employers. Anyone have any suggestions to spice it up?

You will do more things than just cold call. Administrative work, marketing materials, create charts/graphs for client presentations. No need to exaggerate on your resume. These internships are merely introductions to the financial services sector. Its great to have on your resume because it provides you with A) experience and B) a reference. Pretty much everyone has done a regional financial advisory internship.

Try putting down a brief description.

Wachovia Securities
-Financial advisory department targeting asset portfolios of $2.5mm or greater.
-Supported financial advisors with day-to-day tasks
-Researched and generated leads over the phone
-90% of warm leads netted sales

Thanks a lot. I will most likely only do cold calling as he has not told me or mentioned anything otherwise. But, that description is well put and I thank you sir.
