Problem here is everyone is so on-edge, it doesn't take much to throw us into disarray, panic and confusion. Keeping composure is an important dimension for public service (see, you're being tested right now).

Hi! I am new to this site! What a great resource!
Just to let people know, I got interviewed for the Office of Scheduling and Advance last Tuesday and received an email stating I should know by Friday although my interviewer told me I should know at the early part of this week with a phone call.
I will keep everyone posted.

Envoy: I just got a call saying that I have an externship (so, unpaid) position waiting for me at another Government Agency if I don't get the White House Internship. I was fumbling a bit through the phone call but managed to get out a "I'm waiting on another decision for this Friday" and the woman was especially nice and gave me until Monday to decide  (note: this call was my OTHER gov agency, NOT a White House call).
wheeeew. so I'm relieved, I've got a job this summer. Anyways, I *really* hope Friday is THE day because I called my mom and she said that I have to turn down the White House Internship if I don't find out by Friday because I need to start working ASAP. Which is true....
ANYway, I think the woman Anna just couldn't confirm or deny any news of acceptances or denials. Who knows...

Dude I got a call from a number with a 202 area code...I thought it was them and it was a telemarketer. I ended up laughing hysterically after...Geez

I have finally decided to join the site after having read all of the posts! I have to say though, I will not believe most of what is said on this site. After all, everyone here is anonymous right?! This thread is making me worry but I guess I will see in a couple days....
Just to let everyone know, you don't need connections to land this job. I had NO CONNECTIONS whatsoever, just great recommendations. So anything can happen.
The more I wait, the more I worry and everyone in my office is asking me about this every single day! AHHH!

TWorld: thanks, it takes a lot of pressure off of me and makes me feel a LOT better to think if I don't get this internship, I'm still going to have a *fantastic* summer work experience!

we'll all see. i either look forward to interning at the white house or being the President of the White House Intern Reject Facebook group..BOTH are going to be great summer jobs! haha lol.
ps: i came up with sumthing extra...how bout a bi-monthly youtube address to the facebook group? haha a sorta mirror WH internship lol
folks, keep posted, so that even after decisions are out, we stay in touch, facebook, etc
