to make it worse, many injustices fly under the flag of religion...

it wasnt too long ago that slavery was ok, even for the best of Christians/Muslim...I dont think Jews were ever in a position to have slaves since they themselves were once slaves.

my point is, is that the world become a toxic place when we let religion dictate public policy

YouTube - OBAMA ON POINT WITH RELIGION! (Obama back in the day )

(ps: i am a "believer" as they would say here in alabama, but still pluralist )

there are people today that believe that poor people are poor because they are damned....do not have God's grace...are weak believers...if they truly were loved, they would be ok....really sad

It is amazing to see what passes for religion. I don't think that is religion that has taken over countries...it is a polluted mindset that is disguised as religion.

This is really sad b/c then groups who pracitce those religions end up being discriminated against b/c of a couple of people's actions.

I can't believe you guys are all acting like we're going to have a "yes" or "no" answer tomorrow. I'm expecting there's at least a 50% chance that they kick it down the road a little farther, at least till Monday or something.
