My thought is that if they need more help with the current workload so they have time to review the internship apps, maybe they could use some more interns...

From my understanding, yes. There will be a spring, summer and fall class each year. To be fair to the selection process this time around, this is only the second time they have selected interns, and they would have had a much longer time to do so for the first class, since there was no spring class this year, only summer, and now (hopefully) fall. Anyone hear anything today, by the way? Are interviews still going on? If anyone has had an interview, and hasn't mentioned it yet, for which department was it? That might help us narrow down if some departments simply aren't interviewing.

Okay, I've been lingering...waiting for a good time to post something.
I'm a rising sophomore, with lots of volunteer experience. None on the political scene. I go to school in DC. Majoring in the social sciences. I got all the standard emails (confirmation, interview, notification that decision was delayed). I also got a phone interview, apparently with the Office of Presidential Correspondence. It went well, though it was fairly short.
I've been on edge about this for the past several weeks like everyone else. I don't really know the chances I'll get it, but I figured I still have 2.5 more years minimum to apply. And hopefully I'll be staying in the area after undergrad. If I don't get this one, there are a few others I plan to apply for to boost my chances of getting in for the Spring. If anyone gets it (whether I do or not) and needs any help finding housing, let me know. One of my school's dorms rents out units to individuals and families so I can put you in contact with the appropriate office. I don't think it's ridiculously expensive and it's in a lively (though at times shiesty) area of DC. Anyway, just wanted to say best of luck to everyone and the Fall applicants definitely should have gotten as intense as the Summer ones. lol. Try to relax and enjoy your summer! And once again good luck!

The Office of Presidential Correspondance
The Office of Communications
The Office of the Vice President
The Office of Cabinet Affairs.

But there must be other departments doing interviews. Domestic Policy Council anyone? Legal Counsel?
Again, we heard from:
The Office of Presidential Correspondence (vivalamusica)
The Office of Communications (apatel1)
The Office of the Vice President (bellers)
The Office of Cabinet Affairs (bellers)
The Office of Health Care Reform (apatel1)
Please add to the list, if you've received a call or email from any other office.

Fedora, who did you hear tomorrow from? I called and they gave me the canned response of "this week." Regardless, we are going to have to hear by Friday, unless they push it back again.
