I haven't heard anything either. No email about ssn, no interview. I've been bummed this week too, more so after I found this forum. It sounds like there might still be hope though. It's nice to know there's other people that haven't heard anything. We can wait it out together.

Not to ask you too much of an identifying question jbh914....
But did you put any of the previously talked about offices as your choices for where you would like to work?

I know that none of the ones who have made contact to applicants had been chosen by me for where I wanted to be placed. If thats the case for you as well, then I would not worry too much. There is still hope.

Yes, I did put down the communications office as somewhere I would like to be placed, but none of the other offices that have made contact.

We'll see, I'm sort of letting myself down easy this week. I thought I had a good shot as I got a good number of elected officials to recommend me. Maybe not. Guess there's always next year.

I did receive the ssn#/DOB/availability email, but nothing since then -- is anyone else in the same boat? I've been prepping for a suprise interview that has yet to materialize

Oh-- and the communication office was one of my top three choices... (my first, actually), but neither of my other two favs have been mentioned yet

I got a call from the Scheduling and Advance and from the Office of Public Engagement. The first interview went much better than the second. I was told by Scheduling and Advance that there were 6 positions being filled and 12 applicants being interviewed for those positions. He said that his office would make a recommendation to another office--who would make the final decision.

I also receive a phone call and email to verify my ssn (I assume for background checks).

So, just to update our list from before, the following departments (that we know of) have conducted interviews:

- Communications
- Visitors Office
- Political Affairs
- Public Engagement
- Scheduling & Advance

That still leaves a bunch of offices out.

Anyway, after my interview, they told me the same thing as mjpower: they make recommendations to higher ups, who then make the final decisions. In any event, we'll all find out verdicts in about a week and a half.

I found this thread really late but I had gotten contacted earlier this week by Trade for more information (SSN) and got contacted for an interview this afternoon.

Interesting how the different departments are staggered. I am also going through a specific program so I am not sure if that affected the date I heard back.

Also did everyone realize that if we get the internship we will be working for 4 months, while the spring and summer are only 3 months. Ours is from jan - may, and the others are may - august and sept - dec? We get the most time to make the most impact!!!

Its more like 3.5 months vs. 2.5
But yes, its nicer to know that the spring is longer. None of my referrals have been contacted either.
