Finance Internship Rising Junior

Right now I'm a rising sophomore at Boston University, sitting on a 3.9+ GPA, and working 40-50 hours this summer at a Forex Brokerage, hopefully will be working in PWM for the fall with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. To be honest I have no real connections of any kind and though I know better then to get one's hopes up, I've become very interested in JP Morgan's summer program (for rising sophomores and rising juniors).

My questions are:

1) What opportunities exist for rising juniors in finance, and how would someone without connections go about finding such an opportunity?
2) Is it worth applying to positions that are supposedly only for rising seniors? Do I have a chance, or just a waste of time.
3) Specifically what can I do to better my odds at getting the JP Morgan internship.

Thank you ahead of time.

GOOD points.
I can answer the second one. Most of the intern opportunities from prestigeous companies in finance industry are preferable for juniors. As a rising sophomore seeking an intern, I would say be tangible to find your internships. Big name is good but there is no hurt to apply more of the lower-tier companies. I believe you can still learn a lot from them.

Tough to break in from BU. If you don't want to work your ass off then forget about it. IB is a different beast from PWM, which is more like a fuzzy animal in comparison.
