Optometrist is a good career

Why is it that everyone wants to be a pharmacist and doctor but not an optometrist? This career is in demand because people are always aging and they need eye doctors. Plus Optometrist get paid the same salary as pharmacist and hit around $150,000 per year. Just four years of optometry school. It's not hard to find a job either, my mom's friend son got a job offer after graduating from a optometry program. Plus it's not just prescribing glasses to customers, you can go into research or hospital setting or whatever.

I know I thought about that too! Plus, optometrist don't even have to look down people's mouth. I personally think that's gross. That's just me though.. I was planning to become an optometrist, it seemed like a relaxing, easy job, but I changed my mind lol.

I have thought this as well, which is why I wanted to be an optometrist for several years. However, I decided that I enjoy designing medical devices (bit more fascinating IMHO), but I would love to do research on the eye. I have friends who want to be pharmacists, but I'm not sure if they'd enjoy this profession. All optometrists that I've seen seem chill and enjoy their job.
