JP Morgan Research Internship - for freshman?

Hey everyone,

I've been reading up and I'd be pretty interested in applying for one of JP Morgan's research or IB risk internships starting next summer.

Problem is, I'm starting my freshman year this fall! Do freshmen even have a chance? How popular are research roles with interns?

Thanks for any help!

JP Morgan does have a program specially for freshmen and sophomores (you can sign up for either investment banking, sales and trading or research), but it is extremely difficult to get in with the current economic situation. I go to CUNY Baruch College and interviewed for it last year. Rumor was that they were only looking for a max of maybe two people per school, assuming they made it. I believe only about 13 people or less were invited to an interview at my school. It's a two round interview process, first behavioral and then technical. The first interview wasn't too hard, but you should definitely be reading the WSJ - they're interested in seeing what you know about the current economy. They asked me a simple question related to macro-economics, but being that I had not finished taking the course yet, wasn't quite able to answer it. I only was aware of one person making it to the next round. Good luck.
