Internship after study abroad?

So I am a soph planning on studying abroad second semester jr. year. However, I was also hoping for an internship in the summer after junior year in the field of finance, specifically IB or Consulting. Is this even an option as I would be overseas during potentially a major part of the application process? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Depending on your home college, there are companies that recruit interns in the fall semester. I went abroad 2nd semester junior year, but got a internship through on campus recruiting in the fall. Some companies also have special resume drops for students not on campus during the spring semester. You can also apply as normal and just conduct interviews by phone...a few friends of mine abroad with me did that (although due to the time difference, those interviews were sometimes at 2am). Just make sure to explain your situation in your cover letter, or email the recruiter and ask how to proceed.

I’m currently a junior in college and just updating my resume to get it ready for when I start applying for internships this summer. I plan on studying abroad in Europe during the fall 2009 and was wondering if I should incorporate the university I’m going to study at overseas into my education section and just list the classes I’m going to take while there. I didn’t know if this would look bad since I’m not going overseas until after the internship this summer. Should I put it on my resume or should I wait until I actually come back from my study abroad to start putting it on my resume? Should I also put it in my cover letter?
