ML, JP, MS Global Wealth type summer internship Minimum GPA

Hello all! I just registered but I have been following the forums for quite some time now.

I am a junior at BU, with a 3.08 GPA, but at the end of this semester should jump to 3.2.

Now, I have looked into many different fields such as IB, GWM, and what not and I must say that GWM interests me the most. I am familiar with the cold-calling involved but my brother is currently with ML and is doing great and I feel that with the network I have I can succeed in this field.

Now, I am starting an internship next week in ML's GWM division, and I am currently looking into various summer internship positions. JP, Morgan, and ML all offer GWM type analyst positions in the summer time (not i-banking) and JP and Morgan do not list a minimum GPA although it probably is around 3.2-3.3, ML does (3.3 GPA). Now, I currently have experience at a global asset management firm and now this ML experience I am currently going to undergo in their GWM office, is there anyway with my GPA I can still interview and have a shot with any of these firms GWM type internships for the summer? I am at a 3.08 right now and hope to be at 3.2 by the end of the semester (but then again, nothing is guaranteed).

What do you guys think? Thanks for all the help!!

Sure, I don't think they care much about GPA if you have a network.

i'm a junior at BU too haha... going through CORE and working at ML? that's rough!

i was actually talking to FCC/UPO advisors about the GPA issue and most of them said experience / networking trumps everything in the business field. GPA is used more as a cut-off point more than anything when they have thousands of resumes to look through. congrats on the ML GWM internship, i had a few friends applying to that =p
