Security Clearances Helping Admissions

Hi there folks!

Simple question - do they? looking to get into engineering colleges (from MIT to U of MD) and I hold one.

Does anyone know if this is at least a partial hook or an added point for some colleges?

Thanks!

I don't see why having a security clearance would count for anything in and of itself. Why don't you focus on the actual reason you have the clearance in the first place? That would likely count.

^^^ I agree with above posting. You presumably got the security clearance through an employer, so perhaps your job/internship should be the focus of one of your admissions essays. Just listing a security clearance on your application gives you nothing.
