I interned with a Company A this past summer (after my sophomore year). I've already received an offer from Company B for an internship this coming summer. How would you personally rationalize not going back to Company A to HR, manager, etc? It's not that I don't want to work there full-time, but I think diversifying is the best idea in order to truly see what's out there....

That was the exact logic I used. I assume Company A and Company B don't do the exact same things, otherwise there really isn't a point in doing that if you're happy where you are.

On the other hand, staying with Company A may give you greater responsibilities next summer. You wouldn't be starting from scratch like with Company B.
