Non-Wharton Penn (Econ + Computer Science)...IB possible?

Hey,

I'm a prospectice Econ major from UPenn (not Wharton) and may tack on another major in computer science. I will also definitely have a South Asia Studies or Psychology major.

Chances for IBs? Soph/Junior/Senior Internships?

thx.

I would think absolutely you would have a chance. My D was an Industrial Labor Relations major at Cornell. This is not a business major. She was also an IT minor. This is essentially computer science.

She had two internships. One after soph. yr. (back office) and another ( front office). She now works front office at a top BB.

You need a great gpa and interesting resume. Go for the computer science (major or minor), and south Asia studies. It is way more interesting and different than psychology.

Are you female? That gives you an advantage if you are considering trading.

absolutely you have a chance. ive seen people with much more varied backgrounds than yours. the key really is to come across with a good story of why you want to do i banking and tie in personal stories.

Take the easiest major possible to achieve the highest gpa. All employers are fixated on is the gpa, not the difficulty of the major. That is the biggest secret kept amongst the "people in the know".
