Investment banking, if it's anything like stock/option/future/currency trading is pretty exciting. Unfortunately, I'm split between finance and architecture. Maybe I can get an Masters in both... That'd cost a lot of time and $ though.

Anyway, here's to a cool new subtopic!

Well it's about time. This is quickly becoming a very popular field, and it'll "unclog" some of the other forums.

What do the employers think about students-athletes? Are there any disadvantages or advantages to be a student-athlete in terms of landing a job in IB?

i don't see the reason for this subsection though because the actual # of people that even have a chance (let alone actually doing) at IB is very very small

When I saw this subtopic, I thought that I had simply missed it every time I went on CC. Glad they made one. This could potentially be very useful.

Indeed. IB isn't even the most lucrative "field" in finance for the employees. I guess the staff here are just going with the trends. If it gets rid of the 10 IB posts in the business major forum a day from high schoolers who don't even know how the stock market works it's a good thing, though.

It's not about that. It's about the interest there is in this field, which is plenty from what I've seen on these forums. And with most people here still in high school, everybody thinks they have a chance.
