I hear that taking a computer science major path is another way to become an investment banker instead of going finance. I got into both NYU and Georgia Tech. However, I am in-state and Ga Tech is infinitely cheaper. My question is, if i want to become an ibanker, would getting a compsci major and a econ minor at tech be comparable to majoring in finance at nyu?
Thanks for taking your time to read this
The recruiting opportunities might not be as excellent at GATech as at NYU, but a computer science major with econ minor is more than quantitative and impressive enough for any IBank - and it's really not your major that matters so much anyways.
NYU-Stern BLOWS GaTech out of the water for investment banking
You'd be doing yourself a disservice to go to a school (GaTech) with heavy grade deflation and poor investment banking recruiting, if that is really what you want to pursue.
First he states that he got into NYU and GaTech, then he asks whether majoring in econ and compsci at GaTech is comparable to majoring in finance at NYU, which would imply Stern.
