I am not saying Penn is by any means a bad choice. I would say the decision should be made on which school you like better and where you fit in. However, the data does not directly support the fact that CAS kids place all that well into the top firms. I find it hard to believe that CAS kids can beat out Wharton kids. There might an exception here or there, but the overall general trend, I imagine, would be Whatron gets the top jobs.

Yes, BX PE recruits at Chicago. With the exception of some boutiques, Chicago gets the same recruiters as Wharton. Nodnard, your anecdotal "evidence" doesn't do anything for me. I'm UChicago kids could rattle off famous people as well. Bottom line, Chicago econ > Penn econ and Wharton > UChicago > UPenn CAS in recruiting.

thanks for all your help guys! in the end, i did end up choosing based on where i think i'd have the best experience and so picked penn. hopefully it'll work out
