How much better is NYU than Haas

Hi everyone...in quite a predicament here and need some advice!

Basically been accepted to Berkeley and NYU (CAS).

The way things work at Berkeley (as many of you will know) is that you apply to Haas in the second year...and its not a certaintanty that i will get in. My questions are then

1. How much easier is it to get into Wall Street from NYU (stern) or Berkeley (haas )
2. What about haas vs CAS
3. And finally CAS vs NON-Haas

Thus due to the chances of getting swapped form CAS to Stern, and also the chances of getting into Haas...where would you suggest i should go?

Thanks

PS. also as far as i can tell if we are talking non IB...eg. management consultancy/generaly business will berkeley's slightly better gerenal academic prestige put me in better stead if i dont end up going into IB?

They're pretty much equal, can't go wrong either way.

Hass is better than NYU(CAS) but it is in San Francisco(or around that area, i know you can see the Golden Gate Bridge)

Stern is better for Wall street just cause it is like 5 minutes away.
Hass has enough brand name value to have firms not second guess your ability.

Hi again,

Having viewed both the positives and negatives of both universities I have been able to pinpoint the exact reservations I have with them.

With Berkeley Haas, my reservation is that I will find it more difficult to get an internship (during the summers and a place after graduation) on Wall Street than if I went to Stern.

With Stern, my reservation is that Berkeley’s slightly greater reputation will put me in a better stead to go on to Law School or MBA’s at top Ivy League institutions than NYU will. Also, I feel that if at the end of the degree I do not want to go into Banking and instead perhaps Management Consultancy or even something completely different, I will be better suited with a Berkeley degree than NYU. I.e. in the reason for going to stern over Haas purely down to contacts and ease of recruitment?

As you can probably tell, my uncertainty of future career is perhaps why this situation is more difficult. Currently I am looking to get involved in finance (be it banking or consultancy) but long term I have slightly more diverse plans (anything from Law and MBA to directing films).

Thus what I want to know is.... Is Berkeley’s disadvantage due to distance from Wall Street greater than NYU's disadvantage of getting into professional schools. The answer to this will be very important in my decision making process.

Thanks for all your help…I welcome your opinions

Kind Regards

Shadey

PS. If I want to work back in London after I graduate does one have an advantage over the other?
