Chances of an internship

I'm a Finance major with a 3.8 GPA at UGA. I have held several positions in my fraternity, and have been involved on campus with Relay for Life and Habit for Humanity. I hope to work on the judicial board of my university and at a local bank for my senior year. I will graduate in December 09 and was unable to intern this summer, so I will be a senior when I apply for these internships next summer. Will my tardiness hurt me or does my resume and GPA compensate this flaw? For the next year I will constantly ponder over the thought that I missed the opportunity of lifetime this summer, and I'm trying to find closure and assure myself that I have nothing to worry about.

You should be able to latch on somewhere to get an i banking internship. Your years in college should hurt you. If anything does it would be UGA... it doesnt have the best academic rep in the world, believe me i would know ive had the same problem. Even if something doesnt work out in new york for you, im sure there are many ibanking firms in atlanta

Due to unforseen family matters I am behind a bit in credit hours and will graduate in four and half years. I couldn't intern this summer but hope to next summer and then graduate in December 09. This is a career I want to pursue and wish to work in either NYC or Chicago. What's a way to make myself stand out from the rest and gain an edge of my competetion?
