What is a good backup plan if one can't hack it?

I know that IB is tough to get into especially the top firms. But with this one has to major in the correct major or plan which classes to take. Can I transition easily with a finance major to other fields like accounting or a financial anaylist?

In addition can one work as a accountant and then try to re enter ib?

With a finance major, you are not only limited to investment banking. And remember that after several years of work experience, you can go get your MBA and go anywhere from there; the sky is the limit.
