Ithaca auditions 1/20/08

My D is auditioning at Ithaca on Sunday, Jan. 20, in the am session. Who else from collegeconfidential will be auditioning that day?

My husband is from the Syracuse area, so I am familiar with weather, somewhat with getting around, etc. Rather than buying snowboots (I'm in Ala--the only snow boots here are the fashion kind :-), I was thinking either hiking boots, or waterproof tennis shoes for outdoor footwear. Thoughts from anyone? Anything else we might need to have on hand (other than the obvious)?

What are auditionees wearing for the acting/singing part? I've combed extensively the faq site on the big list, as well as the wardrobe portions on this site.

Thanks!

Hey! I'm auditioning at Ithaca on Sunday too, but I'm in the PM Session. I'm personally bringing boots (already own them), but I think any solid kind of footwear would do. Just make sure if you wear sneakers that they're not the meshy/breathable kind, because they will let in the cold air and water.

I'm wearing a black skirt that falls just above the knee and a blue sweater set, both form fitting (but not too much!). I'll also be wearing black heels (that are similar in appearance to character shoes). For my outfit, I kind of tried to pick something that was classic, which would appeal to the auditors, but that was also a bit colorful and fun and that showed off my body.

Hope this helps!

My D is also auditioning on the 20th in the a.m. session. I'll probably pack the winter boots opting for to be safer than sorry. My D has both a dressy pants outfit she likes and a dress. Not sure which one she'll decide to wear. I'm just hoping to get through the weekend without a blizzard - d has exams the week we return.

My D actually wore her audition dress, warm or rain coat, and her boots to most of her auditions and would change into her heels (that she packed into her dance bag along with her binder) when her audition time came up, and she left her coat with me . She wore her boots onto the plane most of the time to keep her carry on luggage as light as possible.

We saw a lot of girls doing tours on heels and it looked rather painful, especially when you have to cover some distances or at times even have to go outside.

Thanks to all. She has some colorful dresses that we bought last week-end, along with some killer red heels. We are using hiking boots for our outdoor footwear. I used to live in upstate NY, so I am familiar with the winter weather--BRRRR!!

Break a leg, everyone!
