Mine moved to "received" I think, Monday, and still nothing.

I hate waiting!

If I call, they won't be able to tell me if I got in or not, will they?

It is rare that a college will tell you of an admissions decision over the phone if you call to ask (this is different than them calling you with a decision). I know waiting is hard but honestly MANY MANY MANY colleges do not notify ANYONE until April 1. This is the NORM. I suggest you not keep calling. If you have not heard by April 1, then you can ask when you should expect to hear but I don't think they will tell you the admission decision over the phone.

I sent an email asking if the my decision would be posted online as mail takes one month to reach me in Brazil... they said my decision was posted through air mail on March 14, one day after my adition result was recieved... guess that's a "no" then, don't think they post "yes" so quickly after they get the application complete =(
I'm sad... in two weeks or so I get bad mail...

Well, Brrruno, you don't know that for sure. I honestly can't imagine that Ithaca WON'T make some sort of accommodation for notifying you in a more timely fashion. I wonder what would happen if you e-mailed the folks in the drama department and explained your situation?

If Ithaca doesn't come through, are you going to try again next year (with a few more schools)?

That's what they told me in a one line email when I explained my situation to them: "We posted it on March 14th". So I take it as a "no, we don't care if the mail time is tripled to get to you in comparison with everyone else".

And I don't know if I'm going to try again, I'm 21 and life is kinda tough here in Brazil... I'll just have to pick something I hate to do and I have to decide it quickly otherwise I won't find a job or have a career... they don't understand that... I'll call them on Monday... I need to know their decision soon so I can have time to take some action here. I guess with their "no" MT doors close for me, i was born in the wrong place to want MT as a career lol but you guys got to keep trying, no matter how many "no's" you hear!!!

as soon as I know it for sure I'll post it here =)

If you're really passionate about going into Musical Theater, don't give up just because a school doesn't accept you. I'm sure there's more to that in your situation, but don't settle for a career you are going to hate when you could audition next year for other schools.
Best of luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed

Since you only applied to one school, and a very selective one at that, you'd have had to have been really lucky to have gotten in for MT. And, you auditioned via videotape, right? They NEVER showcase skills in the way an in-person audition does. Finally, you're young (believe it or not!). Many "kids" in these actor-training programs have some experience beyond high school before they enroll. What about one of the schools that do not rely so much on audition, say Columbia College Chicago? Regroup and try again. You'll regret it if you don't. Good luck!

Not all schools are welcoming to international students (now matter how hard some try to pass that "happy international student" impression). I don't feel old at 21, but while I may not be old to keep trying schools in the U.S., here I'll be old to start a career after trying that too much, believe me. So in my case there's a clock ticking. Too early to decide if I'm trying that again, I have to think my now.

i'm not feeling positive vibes at this point, but that could just be because I need my late afternoon cup of coffee!

sualabama, have you actually called Ithaca's admissions office to make certain that they know she auditioned? It might be worth a call. I feel sure that they do know and the myIthaca thingie has probably just not been updated, but it never hurts to check.

Thanks, NMR! I called them on the 19th and although they didn't actually look at my kid's specifically, when I asked about myithaca "audition not received", she was quick to answer that is normal at this point and not all files have been updated. I'll just wait. I don't want to irritate an admissions counselor at this point! If it turns out her file was lost, I think that will become eveident after the 1st week in April. Don't you?
