Has anyone heard anything yet?

I have heard of a person already getting a rejection letter. What about the rest of you?

My D hasn't heard anything. We know of a few rejections and a couple people have posted acting acceptances here on CC, but we've heard of no MT acceptances.

At the LA unifieds last weekend, Lee said that they would be letting everyone know after the last auditions in Ithaca (i believe this weekend). He gave an estimated date of mid-March.

I'm soooo confused about Ithaca! At first I read that Ithaca often doesn't send out acceptances until LATE, say mid-April (toooo late, in fact). Then, I start hearing that several students have gotten in already! (Funny, I never saw ANYTHING about rolling admissions; maybe I missed it.) And finally, when my S auditioned for them in Chicago, everyone was told that the process "moves slowly," through the drama/MT folks and then the "regular" admissions folks--so don't expect anything until late March, early April. So, what's the scoop?

Not sure if MT is treated differently, but my d was accepted to the Park School in November; we almost threw out the package (thought it was a viewbook)....Apparently, they do employ RD, but for top students, they send out very early admissions...We know students who applied in Oct/Nov who have not heard yet......Hope this clears up your confusion (you're not the only one, BTW....)

At Ithaca, for BFA admissions, some students do hear within a couple of weeks of their auditions and then many do not hear until the end of the admissions cycle, around April 1. When my D applied for the BFA in MT three years ago, and her campus audition was at the end of Jan., she got an acceptance about two weeks later and also knew other kids who had heard in that time frame with an acceptance. I also know someone this year who auditioned in January and is already admitted. However, from reading CC results the last several years, many will not hear until the end. That seems to be the pattern with Ithaca.

My audition is March 1, and I think that's the last one.

So so far MT just has one accepted girl(Meredith), or did someone else say they knew another?

How many do they look to accept again?

They have approx. 12 total slots for MT (boys and girls combined). However, they take more than 12 because not all who are offered a spot decide to matriculate. Just in my D's circle of friends, she and two others we know her year were offered a slot and chose not to attend Ithaca.

While I know others accepted to Ithaca so far this year, you can't get a reading of a total accepted off of who is on CC or who knows who via CC. The fact is that slots remain in the class until they see all who audition.

I recall in my D's year, a friend from home who auditioned on the same day she did in Jan., got into Ithaca at the end of the cycle, even though she got in two weeks after the audition.

So, they can't fill the slots now and have to hold onto some candidates until all auditions are completed.
