Hello!
(I'm a HS senior, posting under my mom's username)! I am desperately trying to decide between Ithaca and Arizona's BFA musical theatre programs. I have debated back and forth for hours the pros and cons of each school, and find myself getting nowhere!! Each has its perks and setbacks, and I really cannot decide. Cost, location, training, preparation, connections, travel convenience (I'm from southern california), and the fact that my best friend also got into Arizona's program are all factors! If ANYONE could PLEASE give me any and all advice, i would be so grateful. Thank you so much!

I know nothing about Arizona's perogram, so I can't help you there. You mentioned a number of factors that you are weighing, as you should. Have you also considered the climate? Being from SoCal, the cold and snow of Ithaca might come as a shock to you--on the other hand, you may welcome the change. Good luck to you!

I live in Ithaca (I am a rising senior) and am planning on trying for MT in college, possibly at Ithaca.

As a resident of Ithaca, I can say that Ithaca is a small town, but has a nicely sized college community. It is a beautiful town and it would be much further up on my list of schools had I not lived here for 17 years of my life.

For those of you who are either planning on visiting, auditioning or attending IC, a fun place to check out is Purity Ice Cream. It's a local business in downtown Ithaca and has fantastic ice cream, a nice break perhaps from stressful college thinking! Even in the fall I would suggesst checking it out, they serve hot chocolate, coffee, and other desserts besides ice cream. Ask any local Ithacan and they will gladly point you in the right direction!

Enjoy and if anyone has questions about Ithaca in general, let me know. I don't know that much about the college, but I'd be happy to answer questions about the town itself.
