merit based aid?

Do not count on any merit based aid from JMU. It is a state school, my son goes there and knows of very few students receiving any merit aid.

JMUs largest awards are application based...

Freshman Scholarship Programs at James Madison University

OSAP :: Centennial Scholars

They do have some merit scholarships for which one does not need to apply.

The Madison Achievement Scholarship Program at James Madison University

And some honors program scholarships.
