I've only recieved an email from one professor that says what book to get. also what is the process of buying books and when should we do so?

Do not buy them from Barnes and Noble, they charge much more than used outlets such as amazon.com (where even new runs cheeper). Another question: if a book is listed under your course on the Barnes and Nobles website, it is assumed to be the correct book?

I ask because I am in calc 1 for fall 2009 and the book B&N listed was 6th edition...but I am aware that one student has bought the 7th edition for the same class and that the summer 2009 calc 1 class used the 7th as well.
