Well, when I applied to competitive schools (including Hopkins), I knew that my rank was very low (top 20%), especially for a non-competitive school, but looking at these chances threads it seems to be one of the top factors. I also was hoping on the upward trend, but, nah. That makes sense though since all the accepted applicants didn't need an upward trend - they were amazing from the get-go.

I applied for BME. I was quite surprised at the decision of a waitlist. At the very least, I thought I would've gotten accepted to JHU for a major other than BME.

Should I send them my abstract for my research?

Accepted to both JHU and Northwestern. But, can't afford both. Someone can have my seats.

Stats:
ACT: 34
GPA: 4.13
AP: 8 APs including 4 this yr. 2 5s and 2 4s.
Rank: 1/423
EC: Just normal stuff
Research: One summer research on Genetics Engineering at a prestigous lab.
Essays: Normal
Recs: I assume they are good.

Bottom line, I am too poor to attend these schools. A lucky rich kid on waitlist can take my place.

Will attend a state school called Univ of Michigan instead.
