Double Major Possible?

I'm set on pursuing Materials Science & Engineering as my major, but I'd also like to do something with my interest in Computer Science. Would it be possible to double major in both or a minor in CompSci? Would that be too overwhelming.

Degree Requirements for Materials Science & Engineering:
Johns Hopkins University: Department of Materials Science and Engineering

Computer Science Undergraduate Program:
JHU Department of Computer Science

I am not sure of the feasibility of a double major between these programs, but I can see a major/minor if you are really interested in it. Whether it is too overwhelming is an individual assessment based on your interests outside of these programs (i.e. electives). You may want to chat with an Engineering Academic Advisor as they could better assess the requirements for both programs, and provide suggestions tailored to your specific interests.

I have the same question, but with different majors. I want to do a pre-med course, with a biology major, but I also want to do something in the humanities, like an English major. Is this possible, or would I be overstretching?

Actually, doing two unrelated majors is actually a lot easier since we have distribution requirements instead of core requirements. Essentially, for your bio major, you have to take X number of humanities/social sciences classes, and for the english major, you'd have to take X number of science/engineering classes, so it works out well because your core classes for one major count as distribution requirements for the other one.

As for MatSci and CS, I'm not sure there's much of an overlap in coursework there, so it depends on what credits you come in with (AP credits) and how much you're willing to overload. Look at the requirements of the two majors and see if you can fit them in four years, keeping in mind you also have to take 18 credits of the humanities. If it looks like it'll work out, talk to Engineering Advising or your faculty advisor and get their input.
