Music @ JHU without getting into Peabody?

I'm a prospective freshman applicant, and I looooove music and don't think I'd be able to live without it. I'm not going to major in music, but I still really want to be involved in it as much as possible. I play piano and oboe.

Would it be possible for me to hang with the music kids / possibly beg for lessons from Leon Fleisher?

Thanks for any feedback!

Performance classes at the Conservatory level at Peabody are possible but you have to qualify by audition. I would guess that Leon Fleisher has pretty high standards but anything is possible. You do not have to audition for classes at the Preparatory level--which can include beginner lessons. Also, non performance courses at the Conservatory (such as music theory, history, etc) are open to Homewood students.
