I was wondering whether or not visiting Johns Hopkins has a strong impact on the admissions decision. I went to an information session in my area already, so would that be enough or should I definitely visit it before I apply?
Johns Hopkins does not really factor in interest... But visiting will help you make a decision on which university you want to go to. You get a vibe that confirms that it is a university that you want to apply to. You'll be spending 4 years at the university that you choose so I would highly suggest visiting your top choices. Back to your question: no, visiting JHU would not have a strong impact... i'm not even sure if it will have an impact
Visiting (or not visiting Johns Hopkins) will have no impact on your admissions decision. INTEREST IS NOT TRACKED AT JOHNS HOPKINS. We do not use a system for tracking interest and there is no interest rating added to one’s application.
Should you visit ... YES! The best way to learn about a university and whether it is the right fit for you personally is to visit. But, if you know that you are going to apply, feel free to postpone any visit until after you find out whether you are admitted.
