| Kenyon director here...I often read the posts and responses but rarely feel the need to post, for the most part replies by alums are dead on.
To answer some of your more specific questions Green-eyes, 2 directors review your file. We're not necessarily a numbers-driven office, in fact one of the first things we look at in a file is curriculum rigor (if you're taking honors, AP, or IB classes and if you have as many years of as many subjects as possible). The stronger the curriculum, the more prepared you are for college level work. Your GPA will be evaluated within that curriculum.
As far as scores go, we expect to see a link between grades and score to some degree (ie if you have amazing, off the chart scores, you should have pretty good grades). We also expect to see balance (your reading/writing skills should not be far above or below your math/science skills).
All essays and short answers are important. They not only tell us what kind of a writer you are, but they also tell us WHO you are as a person!
