they told us waitlist students aren't ranked. But they probably look at demographics when they choose (though I don't think a particular high school would matter).

So it's finally May 1! I wonder if Kenyon will be using their waitlist this year.

hey, does anyone know how much time they will give you to confirm that you want to enroll if they accept you off the waitlist? I will be away between May 29 and June 1 due to a chess tournament held in another city and this rumor over there doesn't sound good to me

Why don't you email them that? Then they know your interest and intent and you can enjoy the tournament.

Any news, anyone?

Guess the late May rumour was a false alarm...

My son was told by admissions that they are waiting to see how many people who accepted at Kenyon withdraw because they got off other waitlists. They expect to have a few places sometime this month, but it didn't sound like they were going to take many off the waitlist. They have already taken seven, they said.

"I am writing to all students who chose to remain on our wait list. At this time, all places in the Class of 2012 are taken. I know that this probably comes as a disappointment to you as you expressed a strong desire in attending Kenyon. This year, the opportunity to offer admission from the wait list was more limited than we expected. A good number of candidates who, like you, had a strong desire to attend Kenyon could not be accommodated.

Thank you for your interest in Kenyon. We will have your application on file for one year should you choose to apply to transfer to Kenyon. Best wishes for a successful and enjoyable transition to college in the fall.

Sincerely,

Gregory B. Buckles

Director of Admissions"
