I think it's weird that we're talking to all these people who are gonna be going, and despite the fact that Gambier is so small, we'll probably see everyone we talked to without even noticing haha

So in my post-excitement, I got around to actually reading the rest of my letter past the "congratulations" and I realized that the letter was personalized. Yet another thing to add to my long list of why I love Kenyon!

I think mine was personalized too. What did yours say? I'm sooo excited though. They gave me an awesome financial aid package.

It took two or three lines out of my essays, and a couple of other things about what I've done in high school.

I haven't gotten my financial aid package yet, but that's pretty much what I'm relying on. Keeping my fingers crossed!

They didn't send you a paper in your acceptance package that told you your awards? I just got that Newman's merit scholarship and they told me how much need-based aid they would be giving me. I was excited though because altogether it was just about the same cost as the college.

No, because I ended up not turning in my CSS profile on time. I should probably call them and ask around when it should arrive...

Congratulations! The Paul Newman scholarship is pretty much what I'm crossing my fingers for.

I'm sure you'll get it, as long as you meet its requirements! On the website it says something about being brought up in an unfortunate environment (monetary I assume lol) and being the first person in your family to go to college or something. But I dunno if the latter is even a requirement

I'll be a first generation college student. And my financial situation was "distraught" enough that I got a waiver for a trip to visit Kenyon.

Putting the deposit in the mail was so exciting though. It felt so real!

Well then I'm sure you'll get it Putting the deposit in the mail was exciting, besides the fact that it was all I had in my bank account!

Same here! I have to pay my cell phone bill this week, then I'll have $5 left in my bank account. Oh well.
