Interested in LFC

I am interested in attending LFC and have been admitted. I liked a lot about it and was wondering if any current students or parents could let me know what their experience has been--good, bad, indifferent. It is such an important decision and I am having trouble finding a lot of information about LFC. I am from the south, so not many people have heard about it to help me get a feel if it's the right fit or not.

Sorry to post again. If you have any knowledge or experiences, it would be nice to hear from you. Even if you changed your mind and decided it wasn't for you, it would help to hear from some people because I didn't have much time to spend when I visited.

Son has been accepted and is seriously considering. We are from the south, though he currently attends school in Michigan. He was impressed with how open the campus was, close to Chicago but not "in" Chicago. His debate now seems to be size. He likes the idea of a small campus community, but is concerned about being in a school "so small".

Lake Forest is a top notch school. Its not as well known as others, and thats a bit embarassing, but it really is great. It deserves a much better reputation than it receives.

I've visited, and done an over night stay, sat in on a class, and know the admissions dept fairly well now. Its a really great place, gorgeous location, and it doesnt really feel THAT tiny. Their FA is amazing, and their classes are a managable size so you dont become lost in the crowd, the cafeteria is so so so SO good, and they're generally pretty accepting. If you dont really take the initiative to integrate yourself, it won't happen, but if you do, its a really good time. The academics seem to be up to snuff, and I'm debating double majoring. The dorms, some are good, some are bad, try to get into Cleavland Young or blackstone, cause others dont have AC and people die using window fans when it warms up. I'm in contact with kids who currently go to LF, and kids who are possibly thinking about it, and everyone is great...

I don't personally know if I will be attending, as my first choice is revising my financial aid package, but if that doesnt work out, i'll happily be a black bear.

Didn't want to create a seperate thread for this question, so forgive me if it is a little random. Are students politically active/interested? Do they tend to be conservative or liberal? Thanks.
