What are my chances?

Hi, I am a rising Junior at the University of Miami. I would like to know my chances for my list of schools I will be applying to in the near future:
Stanford
Yale
Columbia
NYU
Berkeley
UPenn
Duke
Georgetown

GPA: 3.71 (Hoping to raise it up to a 3.75+ this semester) I am a legal studies major under the school of business

LSAT: 165 (Taking it again, maybe a 167 target score)

Internships & Work: Northwestern Mutual Financial Rep + Smithsonian Museum; Worked at Hollister for a year but don't think that's worth mentioning; Volunteered at a Hospital with 900 hours of community service; Will find another internship next summer, any suggestions?

Teaching Assistant at UM and possibly a member of the Honors College at UM...Hoping to graduate Magna Cumm Laude.

Phi Alpha Delta, Lambda Alpha Delta, Bermont-Carlins Scholar

Thank you

Comparing your GPA/LSAT to my sons )also UM grad, I think your list is top heavy. He did not get off any waitlists that I remember either. As you never know, apply to any you like that you listed, just make sure you have a list as long including matches and safeties. (good merit money out there for matches and safeties as well.

You still have plenty of time. Don't stress this stuff. Enjoy your remaining time at the U!!!

Current UM student here... why did you take the LSAT so early?

I'd recommend taking Dr. Lewis's symbolic logic class this Fall if you can, and study study study to take the LSAT in December or June.

To have a good shot at those schools, with your GPA you'll realistically want the following LSAT scores:

Stanford: 173 (really kind of random, though)
Yale: 177 (really kind of random, though)
Columbia: 173
NYU: 171/172ish
Berkeley: 168 (really kind of random, though)
UPenn: 170
Duke: 169
Georgetown: 168

In summary, right now you don't really have much of a shot at any of these schools.

Check out this website I made, which takes the results of applications from lawschoolnumbers and presents them to you in an easily understandable form: myLSN.info - LSN search

Here's a page with the information for your numbers: http://myLSN.info/dispresults.php?us...ny&ed=Excluded

PM me, if you want - I'm happy to help you study for a retake. I got a 169 in June, but before I took the test I was averaging 177 on practice tests. I have a group of 5 or so people who will be studying to retake in October But I'm happy to help you out after that too - Cane family and all, right?

Hi, I was just taking practice tests and was averaging around 165 (give or take 1-2 points each time).

A little about myself, I am 19 years old and an finishing my degree by the time I am 20 in Dec 2013...which is scaring me! (too much dual enrollment and AP credits)

I would LOVE to join the study group and I am planning to take the test in Dec 2012
