| Latin Honors?
Hey Guys,
Hope this is the right spot for this question.
I transferred from CC to Cornell (1 semester) and then to Arizona State. My GPA is stellar (4.0 but actually earned 4.3 each semester) and I am ready to graduate at the end of Fall 2012.
The only problem? I am 11 credits shy of academic recognition of Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State and thus won't receive the notation on my diploma, transcripts, or be able to wear honors cords at graduation.
I asked my advisor if I could petition this academic policy and she said there were no exceptions -- either I graduate with no distinction or wait another semester (and another $14k COA) and graduate in Spring 2012 with latin honors.
It may seem obvious but the $14k ($7k in tuition) does not seem worth it. However I am not really sure how important these latin honors are for law school. (I know employers don't really care). Law school is mainly about my GPA, LSAT, personal statement, and LORs, right?
Can anyone here reassure me?
